 Shenyang undertakes 227 projects that are listed in National 863 Plan, key scientific & technological projects to be tackled and basic research projects and held 15 important scientific and technological activities. There are 3910 private scientific and technological enterprises, 11 academicians of CAS, 19 academicians of CAE and 116 independent scientific research and technological development institutions of city level or above. The whole city has obtained 762 scientific and technological achievements above city level, of which, that of international level reaches 241 (34 of world leading level and 207 of world advanced level) and that of national level reaches 521 (344 of national leading level and 177 of national advanced level). 556 scientific and technological achievements have been popularized and applied. Technological trade business volume of various technological trade institutions is RMB 3.729 billion yuan. There were 4414 patent applications and 2224 patent authorizations.
